Abating industrial emissions and short term carbon storage in the USA
Abating industrial emissions in the USA.A small change for a big impact. Navia carbon offsetting.
Why you need to incorporate emissions reports and carbon removal into your business strategy.
It is not a novel notion that air, sea and road freight shipments are significant contributors to greenhouse gas emissions, with our customers’ shipments forming a part of this. This is why we believe it falls on us and our partners to take action to mitigate the impact.
We recognized these impacts and launched carbon emissions reporting and the Navia offsetting program. Navia customers can opt-in to this program to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability, and contribute to the global effort in combating climate change. By choosing to offset your shipments, you will be taking a step towards carbon neutrality.

Opting in is as simple as clicking the button below and asking to join our sustainability program. A widget will be added to your NaviaHub dashboard showing how much carbon you have offset.
Carbon Insetting
Unlike carbon offsetting, which involves compensating for emissions through investments in carbon projects outside of the supply chain, insetting focuses on projects that are within your supply chain itself.
This can include initiatives such as improving energy efficiency, transitioning to renewable energy sources, optimizing transportation logistics or implementing sustainable production of goods.
By addressing emissions closer to the source, companies not only minimize their environmental impact, but enhance efficiency and supply chain resilience.

02 Certification
Projects are verified and certified by standards like Verra or Gold Standard with extra scrutiny for innovative, uncertified methodologies.
03 Documentation
Analysing the project's approach, methodology, and verification reports to identify evidence of quality against our criteria - including any gaps that we'd need further information and reassurance on.
04 Research
Analysing the latest scientific research about methodology, recent news reports, local government sentiment, the performance of similar projects and more.
05 Engagement
Building long-lasting relationships with project developers is critical to ensuring long-term climate impact. We speak directly with the project developer to understand their approach, and how they mitigate risks. By gauging the integrity of their team, we can better determine their capacity to deliver the expected impact.
06 Validation
Comparing our expert, granular evaluation with independent ratings from leading entities like BeZero and CarbonPlan.
07 Alignment
Ensuring project selection is science-backed. This supports the scaling and integrity of the voluntary carbon market in the long-term, while balancing immediate cost and impact.
High quality projects
Focusing on high-quality projects is essential to successful carbon offsetting because it guarantees genuine and significant emission reductions, thereby ensuring that the investments made to offset carbon emissions yield tangible environmental benefits and contribute meaningfully to global climate action.

Does a project result in carbon benefit beyond the business as usual scenario that would have occurred without it existing?
Measurable
How confident are we that a project has accurately estimated and qualified their impact (ie the amount of emission they avoid or carbon they remove)?

Has the project been designed to deliver benefits beyond carbon within and around the project area?
Risks
Every carbon project has risks. These differ based on the project methodology. Are there robust risk mitigations in place to counteract these risks?
