Customs services under one roof
Most delays at the border come from paperwork, not freight. We manage the whole customs process in-house, so there's one team accountable from booking to release.
• Tariff classification: We assign the correct tariff codes so you pay the right duty, no more and no less.
• Entry documentation and lodgement: We prepare and lodge your import declarations accurately and on time.
• Duty and tax calculation: We give you clear duty and tax estimates before your goods land, so there are no surprise bills.
• Compliance reviews: We check your past entries for errors and overpayments, and help you correct them.
• Permits and regulated goods: We coordinate the extra checks, such as biosecurity or partner agency requirements, that some goods need.
• Freight and customs together: Pair clearance with our sea, air and road freight forwarding, and track it all in NaviaHub.

Why importers trust Navia with customs
Getting customs right is about more than clearing today's shipment. What is customs clearance?
Customs clearance is the process of getting imported goods approved by customs so they can enter the country. It involves declaring your goods, classifying them under the correct tariff codes, and paying any duties and taxes owed.
What's the difference between customs clearance and customs brokerage?
Customs clearance is the outcome: your goods being released. Customs brokerage is the service of managing that process for you, which covers classification, documentation, lodgement and compliance.
How long does customs clearance take?
Most compliant shipments clear within one to three days of arrival. Delays usually come from missing documents, classification queries or extra inspections, which is why we lodge early and check paperwork before goods land.
What documents do I need?
Usually a commercial invoice, a packing list and a bill of lading or air waybill. Some goods also need permits, certificates of origin or treatment certificates. We'll tell you exactly what your shipment needs.
Can you clear goods if you're not handling the freight?
Yes. We can handle customs clearance on its own, even if another provider moves your freight.
